No two rooms price the same. What moves the figure is the condition the room is in and how much preparation is needed before any plaster goes on. The worked examples below show how that works in practice. A firm price follows photos or a site visit.

WHY EVERY ROOM PRICES DIFFERENTLY
What a room costs depends on the condition it is in and how much preparation is needed before plastering starts. Sound existing plaster can be skimmed over. A background that has failed has to be floated or boarded first, which means an extra stage of preparation before the finish coat. The examples below are a guide for ordinary domestic work. Your figure is confirmed once we have seen photos or the room itself.

What moves the price is the condition of the walls and ceilings and how much preparation they need. The figures below are a guide, not a quote.
A small bedroom, walls and ceiling skimmed over sound existing plaster
A living room where the old plaster has failed, floated back out and skimmed

You will be given an estimated number of days with the quote. Labour and materials are included.
CONDITION AND PREPARATION
WHAT THE PRICE DEPENDS ON
The plastering itself takes a similar amount of time in most rooms. What changes the price is the condition of the room and the preparation needed before any plaster goes on.
Size, and whether the ceiling is included.
The background. Sound plaster can be skimmed straight over. A failed or bare background has to be floated or boarded first, which means an extra stage of preparation before the finish coat.
Preparation. Wallpaper still on the walls, an Artex surface, blown areas and holes made good.
Access. Stairwells and high ceilings take longer to work in.
Whether it is one room, several rooms or a full property.

In the price
Labour, and quality materials suited to the job.
Protection. Floors and anything in or around the working area covered where needed, put down before we start.
A clean down at the end of each day.
One year workmanship guarantee, issued in writing.
Not in the price
Waste removal. Waste is bagged and left on site, and can be moved to a spot of your choosing where that is practical. We do not take waste away. On larger jobs with more waste, a skip can be priced in if necessary.
Furniture. Areas should be cleared before the first day.
Decorating. The finish is left smooth and ready to decorate once it has dried.
Payment
No deposit is normally required.
Payment is due by bank transfer once the work is completed.
On larger or longer jobs, staged payments can be agreed beforehand.
WHERE WE SIT
PROTECTION AND THE CLEAN DOWN ARE IN THE PRICE
The price covers the preparation, the protection put down before we start and the clean down at the end of each day. Most worries about a plasterer come down to two things: whether he turns up, and what the place looks like when he leaves. Those are the parts a cheaper quote usually leaves out. We are not the cheapest quote in Worthing.
BEHIND THE PRICE
GUARANTEE, INSURANCE AND EXPERIENCE
The work carries a one year workmanship guarantee, given in writing and running from the day the work is finished. It covers faults caused by our preparation or application. It does not cover structural movement, damp, leaks, failure of the existing background, everyday wear and repeated knocks, or damage from work carried out by others.
