PLASTERING IN WORTHING AND BROADWATER

PLASTERING IN WORTHING
WITHOUT THE MESS YOU ARE DREADING

Most worries about a plasterer come down to two things: whether he turns up, and what the place looks like when he leaves. Both are planned for before the work starts. We arrive around 8am, protect floors and anything in or around the working area, and clean the site down at the end of each day.

An enquiry can be sent at any time. We reply as quickly as we can during working hours, Monday to Friday. The site visit and the written quote are free.

WORTHING IS WELL INSIDE THE AREA WE COVER

Worthing and Broadwater sit inside the area we cover, along with Durrington, West Tarring, Offington, High Salvington and Goring-by-Sea. We cover Worthing and around ten miles out from it.

ALL ASPECTS OF PLASTERING IN WORTHING

These are the jobs we take on in Worthing, from a single room to full properties.

A fresh finish laid over existing walls and ceilings, including over Artex, left smooth and ready to decorate.

Float and set

Where the old plaster has blown or been taken off, the wall is floated back out and skimmed.

Dry lining

Overboarding ceilings and dot and dab plasterboarding to existing walls, then skimmed to a finished surface.

Sand and cement rendering

External walls rendered in sand and cement, scratch coat and finish coat.

Repairs and patching

Blown areas and holes made good into the surrounding surface.

A room freshly skimmed, walls and ceiling, with bare boards and a wooden stepladder standing by the sash window

THE CLEAN-UP IS PART OF THE JOB

Mess and start times are what most people worry about, so both are planned before the first day.

01

The quote and a start date are agreed before anything is booked in.

02

Areas should be cleared before the first day.

03

A start around 8am on the day agreed.

04

Floors and anything left in or around the working area protected where needed.

05

The site cleaned down at the end of each day.

06

Waste is bagged and left on site, and can be moved to a spot of your choosing where that is practical. We do not take waste away.

On rendering a skip is included in the price. On larger jobs with more waste, a skip can be priced in if necessary.

WHAT MOVES THE PRICE

What moves the price is the condition of the walls and ceilings and how much preparation they need. The figures below are a guide, not a quote.

A small bedroom, walls and ceiling skimmed over sound existing plaster

around £500 to £700.

A living room where the old plaster has failed, floated back out and skimmed

around £1,400 to £2,000.

You will be given an estimated number of days with the quote. A firm price follows photos or a site visit, and comes in writing.

WHAT WE PUT IN WRITING

These are the things you can check before anything is agreed.

Experience

Six years plastering behind the work. The business itself started in 2026.

Guarantee

The work carries a one year workmanship guarantee, given in writing and running from the day the work is finished. It covers faults caused by our preparation or application. It does not cover structural movement, damp, leaks, failure of the existing background, everyday wear and repeated knocks, or damage from work carried out by others.

Insurance

£1,000,000 public liability through Simply Business, in case anything ever goes wrong.

Quote

Free site visit and written quote, with a start date agreed before any work begins.

WHAT PEOPLE ASK BEFORE THEY LET ANYONE START

Plastering is wet and dusty work. Floors and anything left in or around the working area are protected where needed, and the site is cleaned down at the end of each day.

Areas should be cleared before the first day.

It is good practice to have radiators taken off so we can plaster behind them. Taking a radiator off is plumbing work, which we do not carry out. If radiators stay on the wall, we can only blend around them.

The size of the job and the preparation needed decide it. We give an estimate of how many days to expect with the quote, and each of those days starts around 8am.

We ask that someone lets us in each morning and locks up at the end of the day. It helps if you are contactable by phone while we are there. You do not need to stay in the house while the work is going on.

New plaster dries from dark patches to an even pale pink, and it is dry when the last dark patches have gone. How long that takes depends on the room, the ventilation and the time of year. We give an estimate for your job based on the conditions on site.

In most cases it can. The surface is prepared and sealed first, then skimmed to a clean finish ready for decorating. Where the pattern is very heavy, or the surface is loose or blown, overboarding is the better route and we say so.

IF YOU ARE JUST OUTSIDE WORTHING

The area runs well past the town boundary. The work, the guarantee and the way a day runs are the same wherever the job is.
